Florian is one of the replicas of the original Fon Master Ion. He was the leader of the Order of Lorelei that resided in Daath, in the world of Auldrant. He was the only one that could read the Score, which told people of future events. However, in the Score he read of his own death, and had two of his subordinates, Mohs and Van create a replica to stand in his place. So, he had himself replicated before his eventual death to illness. There were originally seven in total, but only three of them were kept alive. These three were: the 7th, the successful replica whose abilities were closest to the original although he was extremely frail, and thus he was named “Ion”. Sync, who was taken under the wing of the Commandant of the Oracle Knights and trained him in secret to become one of the six God-generals and gave him his name. The last being Florian, who had been unnamed at the time and hidden away by Mohs, who would use him in the event that the replacement replica of Fon master Ion could not fulfill his role in reading the Score. The small child had been hidden away for 2 years, kept from interacting with the outside world around him. The other replicas had turned out as failures, and were thrown into the volcano at Mt. Zaleho and killed.
When the 7th replica of Fon Master Ion died, being forced by Mohs to read the Score on the Seventh fonstone which took his life due to him being a replica and lacking the strength necessary to survive after reading it and Luke and the others showing up too late to stop him, the man responds by saying that even the perfect replica of the bunch couldn’t read the Score properly and escapes after letting Fon master Ion’s replica die. Later, he becomes a mutated monster after trying to infuse himself with the power to become a Fon master himself and it begins to deteriorate his mind. Out of desperation to learn of the Score written on the Seventh Fonstone, he resorts to his final option: using the replica that he’s hidden away for just this purpose, Florian. However, he refuses to believe the Score that the child reads, which tells of the fall of Auldrant. After reading it, Luke and the party show up, where Anise decides that they should take him to Daath.
He is still nameless at the time, but since it might cause confusion to give him the name “Ion”, as the Fon master was dead now, it is decided that since the boy becomes quickly attached to Anise she should be the one to name him. She gives him the name “Florian”, meaning “Innocent One” in Ancient Ispanian before they leave, promising to come back to visit him soon.
